Cades Cove is a popular destination in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park known for its scenic Loop Road, historic buildings & abundance of local wildlife.

Located just south of Gatlinburg within the Tenessee side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cades Cove is one of the most charming and popular destinations in the Great Smoky Mountains, known for its scenic valley views, historic buildings and abundant wildlife. It is considered one of the best spots in the park to spot black bears, white-tailed deer, wild turkeys and other birds native to the Appalachians. Many visitors opt to venture along the Cades Cove Loop Road, a one-way scenic drive around 11 miles long with plenty of pull-offs scenic overlooks with parking spaces for visitors to enjoy the landscape at their own pace. On select mornings, the road is closed to cars, making it a paradise for cyclists.

The cove was once home to a thriving Appalachian community, and today, it preserves historic cabins, churches, and a working grist mill, offering a glimpse into 19th-century mountain life.
