Wynwood

Wynwood is a neighbourhood in Miami famous for its colourful murals, and trendy warehouses that became Miami's creative and cultural hub.

Located just North of Downtown Miami, Wynwood has evolved from an industrial area known for its warehouses to a colourful creative and cultural hub. Originally an industrial area and part of Miami’s garment district, Wynwood was largely overlooked until the early 2000s when visionary developers like Tony Goldman saw its potential as a creative space. The founding of the Wynwood Walls open-air museum in 2009 put the area on the cultural map as urban artists from around the world were invited to create new works on the blank canvases provided by the warehouse walls. Wynwood is now synonymous with street art, with vibrant murals by world-class artists to be found on every corner of the neighbourhood. It has also developed a thriving culinary and nighlife scene and makes the are popular with locals and tourists alike.
