Begin your private Capri adventure at the bustling port of Sorrento, where you’ll meet your knowledgeable local guide and step aboard the hydrofoil for a swift and scenic crossing, where Sorrento’s cliffs fade behind you as Capri’s dramatic shoreline comes into focus, rising from the sea like a natural sculpture.
Upon arrival at Marina Grande, your guide will lead you to a private minivan, your comfortable base for exploring the most intriguing corners of the island. The day’s itinerary adapts naturally to weather, sea conditions, and your own interests, with several sites available to visit should you wish to include them. Many guests choose to begin with Capri’s most iconic experience: the Blue Grotto. You’ll have the option to enter this luminous sea cave by rowboat and witness the glowing turquoise light created by the sun filtering beneath the water’s surface.
From there, you’ll head up to Anacapri, a peaceful village perched high on the island’s slopes. As you travel, your guide will share stories of the island’s history and characters, including the intriguing figure behind Villa San Michele, which you may opt to visit if you wish to explore its terrace and gardens, and the remarkable mosaic floor in the nearby San Michele Church. Anacapri is also the departure point for the chairlift to Monte Solaro, another optional addition to your visit, which never fails to impress. The gentle ascent reveals sweeping panoramas in every direction, from Naples to the Amalfi Coast, not to mention the breathtaking landscapes of Capri itself.
Later, you’ll descend toward the island’s glamorous centre. Capri town exudes style, from its polished boutiques to its sun-drenched café terraces. A stroll through its streets brings you naturally to the famed Piazzetta, where the lively atmosphere gives you a feel for "la Dolce Vita" that has drawn in the jet set over the years. There will, of course, be time to pause for lunch at a local restaurant of your choice (at your own expense), giving you a chance to sample some of Capri’s fresh island flavours.
Your final stop will be the beautiful Gardens of Augustus, which you may visit to admire their lush Mediterranean greenery and spectacular viewpoints. The gardens offer dramatic vistas of the Faraglioni, Capri’s iconic sea stacks, and the winding Via Krupp far below. After ample time to take in the scenery, you'll return to Marina Grande for the quick hydrofoil ride back to Sorrento, carrying with you a vivid introduction to Capri’s beauty, culture, and effortless elegance, enriched by the insight of your local guide.
Please note: Sometimes it is not possible to visit the Blue Grotto due to high tides or adverse weather conditions. Your guide will be happy to provide alternative options tailored to your interests. Apart from the hydrofoil, tickets will not be purchased ahead of time, so entrance to the Blue Grotto and other attractions will be at your own expense. Your guide will be happy to assist with securing tickets on site.
